CREDIT SCORING SECRETS REVEALED: GROUP LAUNCHES EDUCATIONAL VIDEO SERIES TO HELP CONSUMER FINANCIAL LITERACY
National Consumer Reporting Association Introduces "Man on the Street" Credit Score Tutorials
ATLANTA/June 22, 2017/ A new video series from National Consumer Reporting Association (NCRA) was unveiled today at the National Apartment Association (NAA) Education Conference and Expo at the World Congress Center in Atlanta. Developed by NCRA’s Education and Compliance Committee, the "Man on the Street" video series provides informative responses to the most commonly asked questions, regarding consumer credit and credit scoring. The videos are uniquely designed to provide the average person with an alternative medium to obtain vital credit information knowledge, free from product endorsements and sales promotions.
In celebration of "National Housing Month," the first seven videos in NCRA’s credit education series is now available for viewing and redistribution at NCRA’s website at www.ncrainc.org.
Terry Clemans, president, NCRA said: "This is truly a "Man on the Street" video production because we filmed at some of the country’s most iconic destinations, using randomly selected volunteers to interact with our experts. The first seven videos were filmed in Times Square with consumers who were asked to pose the most frequently asked questions of NCRA member credit reporting experts. The veteran professionals featured have industry knowledge gained from decades of hand-on work experience in the credit reporting industry. NCRA would like to thank the professionals at the Mortgage News Network who worked with members of the NCRA Education and Compliance Committee to produce this video series, and National Apartment Association for hosting the launch of this campaign."
Each video Q&A is four to five minutes in length and covers an individual topic. The topics begin at the very base level of what is a credit report and credit score, different types of credit reports, how to dispute information on your credit report, and advancing to more complex credit issues such as how scores are calculated, how to improve your credit score, and trended credit data, which is now used in mortgage underwriting.
NCRA’s next three "Man on the Street" credit score tutorial videos, filmed at Alamo Plaza in San Antonio, are set to be release later this summer 2017, in conjunction with details about NCRA’s 25th anniversary conference to be held in November in Baltimore, MD.
